SUMMARY:From Iowa and Back - The Vietnam Era - What Cheer Opera House
DESCRIPTION:From Iowa and Back – The Vietnam Era represents years of community engagement\, collaboration\, and storytelling. The film offers a deeply personal exploration of the lives of ordinary Iowans who grew up in the 1950s and 60s\, left the idyllic landscapes of small-town America\, and faced the realities of wartime in foreign lands and at home. Through Glazier’s lens\, the film chronicles these veterans’ journeys\, from the turbulence of war to the challenges of reintegration upon returning home. It provides a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by a generation whose narratives have often been overshadowed by history. Through Brucemore’s Artisan Studio program\, a team consisting of production managers\, writers\, editors\, colorists\, sound editors\, and composers has been gathered to work hand-in-hand with the filmmaker to achieve his creative vision for the project. Brucemore is proud to be part of the telling of this story of everyday Iowans who sacrificed some of their youth to serve to their country. \n👉Click here to meet the creator and director Jeremy Glazier https://www.facebook.com/reel/473521689133061 \n📅Show: Sunday\, March 22\, 2026 – 2:00-4:00pm\, doors open 1:00pm \n🎟️Tickets: Freewill Donation \n🍿Popcorn\, pop\, and water will be sold during the show

SUMMARY:Awed Man Out at What Cheer Opera House
DESCRIPTION:“Awed Man Out” is a very fun collective of seasoned Iowan musicians who joined forces years ago. They draw their material from the years ’65 – ’75\, but admit they have a hard time staying put. From Buffet to Badfinger to the Beatles\, from Dylan to Diamond to 3 Dog Night\, from Steve Miller to Merle Haggard\, you’ll hear it! (And silly jokes\, too…) These are Linn County guys – except cool Zach the Rhythm Master from Monticello – his wife Kim dubbed him the “odd man out\,” and accidentally named the band. Guitarist and vocalist Scot Warder is the glue that holds it all together. “If we’re having fun\,” says Warder\, “the folks who come to see us have fun too.” Local guitar legend Dale Crosby (who sets the whole groove and trades guitar licks with Scot) has been part of Cedar Rapids’ music scene for many years. Phil – the Eccentric Professor – tickles the ivories while Jazzy John’s bass chases down the stray notes. Come out\, hear some good music parents and kids will feel right at home! \nShow: Saturday\, November 8\, 7:00-9:00pm\, doors open 6:00pm\nTickets: $20(adult)\, $10.00(18 and under)\, general admission\, can purchase at the door the day of the event or online at http://www.whatcheeroperahouse.org\nPopcorn\, pop\, and water will be served during the show\nGrant Ranch Grub & Pub will be serving food and drinks at the Opera House from 6:00-9:00pm

SUMMARY:Heartache Tonight - A tribute to The Eagles
DESCRIPTION:Show: Saturday\, March 29\, 7:00-9:00pm\, doors open 6:00pmTickets: $17.50-$35\, general admission\, can purchase at the door the day of the event or online at www.whatcheeroperahouse.orgPopcorn\, pop\, and water will be served during the showGrant Ranch Grub & Pub will be serving food and drinks at the Opera House from 7:00-9:00pm\nWith five number one singles and six number one albums\, the Eagles are one of the most successful American rock bands of all time. Their albums\, Greatest Hits and Hotel California rank among the best-selling albums in U.S. history. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.\nTogether since 2007\, Heartache Tonight is without question the finest Eagles tribute in the country. The band performs songs from all eras and all incarnations of the Eagles\, including many of the individual member’s hugely popular solo hits.\nFrom the powerful guitar duel in “Hotel California” to the shimmering harmonies of “Peaceful Easy Feeling\,” Heartache Tonight delivers a true Eagles concert experience. With meticulous attention to every detail\, these six talented musicians reproduce live (no backing tracks!) all the memorable hits of this enormously popular rock powerhouse that is still going after five decades.\nA Heartache Tonight performance is filled with moments designed to thrill classic rock fans: the soaring a cappella harmonies of “Seven Bridges Road\,” the snarling guitars of “Life In The Fast Lane\,” the anthemic country rock of “Take It Easy\,” and the beautifully evocative “Heart Of The Matter.”\nClose your eyes and you’ll swear you’re hearing the real thing
