What is puzzlepalooza you may ask?!

Puzzlepalooza is an exciting and interactive event where teams of 4 to 6 participants compete to complete a 500-piece puzzle, enjoy pizza, and drink beer—all while navigating a unique set of challenges! The entry fee is $100 per team, and participants will have 3-4 hours to finish the puzzle, enjoy food and drinks, and interact with other teams and spectators through creative fundraising options.
Event Details:
• Teams of 4-6 players will compete to complete a 500-piece puzzle.
• Teams are provided with pizza and 2-3 pitchers of beer during the event.
• There is no set break time; all participants must continue working through the entire 3-4 hour timeframe.
Interactive Features:
1. Buy Time:
Teams can influence the progress of other teams by purchasing time delays. For example, Team A can pay $5 to prevent Team B from working on their puzzle for 10 minutes. Team B can “buy back” that time for $10. This dynamic can raise funds quickly, and the duration and cost can vary, offering plenty of flexibility. Spectators can also get involved by buying time for teams!
2. Freeze Teams:
Teams can pay to completely freeze another team’s progress. For $20, Team A can freeze Team B, stopping them from eating, drinking, or working on their puzzle for 10 minutes. Like Buy Time, the amount and duration of a Freeze can vary, and spectators are also encouraged to participate in freezing teams.
3. All Freeze or All Buy Time Option:
Teams can opt to Buy Time or Freeze all teams (except themselves) for $50, stopping or delaying the progress of everyone else for 10 minutes. This creates a high-stakes, competitive environment where teams can strategize on how best to manage their time and influence the progress of others.
Additional Rules and Options:
• Teams must finish their pizza, beer, and the puzzle to win.
• There are no scheduled breaks—participants must eat and drink while continuing to work on the puzzle.
Event Support and Logistics:
• Proceeds will go to Kiwanis Club of Sigourney, with a portion going to cover the costs of beer and pizza (approximately $20-$30 per team, depending on the number of pizzas and beers).
• The event can accommodate up to 12-14 teams: 6 teams on the main restaurant floor and 6-8 teams in the basement party room, which also features restroom facilities.
